I just repaired my AFM!

I had nothing to lose as my AFM was Fooked!

Took it all apart, and soldered all joints, also cleaned the hot wire with contact cleaner and a cotton wool bud biggrin.gif

Typical Bloody Noorvaaneer

Spends two days up to his neck in solder just to save £380!

Any chance you can have a look at mine!

LOL

I suspect that the cleaning had more to do with it than the soldering, but time will tell, eh ?

No Mac that repair is down to me. I spoke to Uri Geller and asked him to think posative thoughts and rub his magic crystals for your airflow meter and hey presto it worked.

Tonight i shall be rubbing my magic balls and thinking about a lottery win biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Andy, the engine would not rev above 2.5K rpm. This happens when the ecu detects an error (open circuit or short circuit) on the MAS. It switches over to just use the TPS instead for airflow measurements and does not allow the engine above 2.5K rpm to save damage... This is sometimes reffered to as 'get me home' mode. So in short, I recon its the soldering that sorted it - there will have been a dry joint somewhere....

Make sense?

CheerZ,

Andy

It does indeed, but it doesn't explain why no error codes show up on the ECU.

You are both wrong,as it was the soldering and the cleaner that did it biggrin.gif

Paulg, if massaging your magic balls really gets you a lottery win, can you massage mine and get me a 360 Modena GT and a young blonde nympho? My wife rubbed my magic balls on Saturday and I won £100, so hopefully you can do better.

I doubt you have repaired it...as once the AFM goes bad,in my experience,it will probably do so again!Probably on the next longish journey you undertake! biggrin.gif
