Hi all,

Im really at my wits end!! My front brakes started to stick on a few months ago. So i did a fluid change etc, changed pads. Then ok for a few weeks and happend again. I stripped one of the calipers and found aluminium diposits in the cylinders and slight grooves. So i got another set of calipers. Put them on today. Bled them again and now they are stuck solid. Infact worse. Any ideas. Am i missing something here?? :( Its driving me mad FFS. Anyone else had this??

The only time i've every come across seized brakes are when the car is'nt being used. I have found when it happens i free them off and then make sure they get used often. Its not happened to me with a zed though.

How often are you using the car?

Could be the master cylinder is breaking down. I think the alloy calipers' floating mech have steel liners for the pistons...I maybe wrong, leading to the alluminium deposits being caused from the MS? But are you sure they are alluminium deposits rather than recent steel deposits?

do you spray anything on your wheels when cleaning, i sed to use wheel acid and my calipers used to start seizing for a short while after

I'm guessing the new calipers you got were second hand. That means these calipers are probably still 15 years old and it would not be unusual for the pistons to be seized on them as well.

Take the caliper off and get someone to push the brake pedal and see if the pistons are actually moving.
