I have an email about my car but am a bit suspiciouse!! He emailed me about the car from his personal email address asking about what price i would take for the car, this is my answer.

I am willing to negotiate the price somewhat as it is a waste to have the car and not be using it much, it needs to be used and i am using the money to build a streetfighter trike (as i am disabled and have never seen one done! ) I would take £5,500 to take it away now with all the goodies?

 

Where abouts are you based? The best thing to do would be to come and have a look and a test drive, as i'm assure you you'll love it!! I also have some better pics of the interior. See attached file.

Thanks you very much for getting back to me regards the purchase of your car and am very excited that you still have the car for sale.

Regarding the price of the car , i will offer you £5,600 which i believe is fair enough for the car if i am right.

So are you the first owner of the car? and for how long have you been driving the car,i mean the mileages?because these are what i need to know before i could proceed with the purchasing of the car.

I want your response on the above questions so that we can wrap everything up in a short while as i am eager to take the possession of the CAR once the payment is fully CLEARED in your bank.I have a shipping company that will come for the pick-up of the car wherever the car is located in UK.

Please Note that i agree to take the possession of the car only when the draft has FULLY CLEARED AND CONFIRMED IN YOUR ACCOUNT.

So if you are ok with this kindly get back to me as i need to complete the transaction asap..

It's a different person to the initial query but seems ok apart from he's offered me £100 more than i said i'd sell it for? What do you guys think?

Its a scam!!! The cheque clears in your account and then the bank realises there is something amiss weeks later and takes the money back, leaving you with no car and no money!

 

Send them a reply telling them to pull the other one, its got bells on it!

almost definitely dodgy!!! If you think there's a chance it could be real, you could ask for name and home address of the purchaser, say that you will only accept funds through IBAN (not western union etc) and you want a photocopy of their passport... if they're genuine it shouldn;t be a problem... BUT, like you say, why would they offer more money than you said, and why do they want to export a r-h-drive car to europe?!

why would any1 offer 100 quid more than you said you'd take for it!

If it sounds too good to be true its probably a scam. Email him back and tell him its a cash only sale.

Agreed, i'll ask a few questions just in case but it's not right is it!

it is a scam, notice how some words are in upper case? these are usually parts of the original advert advertising the car that has been copied and pasted in.

 

you will find they are Nigerian 419 scammers. tell em so s0d off, or email them a bit and make them think you believe them to waste your time!

The draft will clear, but after a week or a month the bank will strip the money from your account and you will have to pay it back. Old Bill may get involved too as technically you will have cashed a forged bankers draft.

Tell him you will only accept western union transfer, then you get the cash and cant be scamed. if he wont accept that then tough
