Had the chance for a ride in a new GT-R while I'm over here in the states. I went out to the MidwestZfest in Tulsa Oklahoma over the past 4 days and it was fantastic. I'll get some photos up when I'm back in the UK.

It was a monster of a car with the most amazing braking and handling system I've ever experienced. I'm still not over-awed with the looks and interior, but the mechanicals were out of this world!

It has a wonderful driving position too.

After that, I had a ride in a 700+bhp Z32 TT which felt every bit as quick through the mid-range powerband after it had actually managed to start gripping! 3rd gear has always been a good gear in the Z32 TT and this just opened the thing up into an animal! I want more power! I now hate stock TT performance, it's sloooowwwwwww!

/excitement over!

Certainly am. Was feckin' humid in the Mid-west, really uncomfortable at times. Just flown back to California (San Diego), so nice and warm without the humidity. Went to an LAZ32 meet last week too which was good. Had a canyon cruise north of Los Angeles. Great fun!

We were chasing Armadillos and toads around the hotel carpark last night in Tulsa (Oklahoma) at MWZF!

Im off to portland (OR) for a week in oct :)

Nice one si

although should'nt a 700hp Z32 feel a hell of a lot faster than a heavy 480hp GTR (excluding traction issues) ?

depends, were they running pump or race fuel at the time ;) Seriously though, sounds like you're having a great time!

It did feel quicker once it had gained traction....which was mid-way through 3rd gear! With the traction issues, it still felt a more powerful enging. The GT-R has got some impressive launch-control system on it. I made a video of it and I'll upload it when I get back to the UK. The Z32 was a very good build. The guy had transmission issues and the night before the show itself, a load of them decided they'd help him out and remove the broken transmission in the hotel's car park! They worked all night on it, 3 guys also went off in a pickup and drove to Springdale in Arkansas to pick up another transmission, then they decided whilst they were there that they'd tear down another Z32. When I went down the following morning, they were still there underneath it working on it. They managed to fix it all up and get it running right there and then!

Thought it said a bit of a puff lol!!!!!

Glad to see you had a nice time. did you get any other pics?? :)

Just sat in one myself! I'm currently contracting for the Nissan Tech Centre in Cranfield and they had their 20th Anniversary yesterday. AWESOME bit of kit and I BADLY want one! Really comfy, plenty of room and my shoulders actually fit in the seats - something that I usually struggle with. Still feels weird to have that clutch pedal missing though ;)

The best thing was that I got asked to show the Zed! They wanted to show as many of the cars that Nissan have made as possible, so, as my car is quite well known here, I got asked to display it. It ended up being surrounded by the GT-R, an R32 GT-T and a 240Z :)

Here are a few more photos of it. The track photos are at Hallet Raceway in Oklahoma. I have some video of it sliding round one of the apexs and also of us experiencing its amazing launch control! We all went there on day 2 of MWZF. I have hundreds more photos of the big show (which the authorities allowed us the use of an entire bridge for!). Lots of 240s, 260s, Z32s, etc etc I'll upload the rest when I have some time.

Yes mate, not of me in the car unfortunately (realised afterwards I should have done!) but plenty of interior, exterior and engine bay! Will post some up soon.
