Dont know if anybody cares but The Cooling Towers that stand at the side of the M1 at junction 34 are being blown up tonight at around 3am, the M1 is being closed from 11pm tonight until later on sunday afternoon between j32 and j35, as are most of the roads around meadowhall.

no, they havent been used for ages, just a bit of a landmark but with all the vibrations from the motorway and being so exposed to the elements they have become unrepairable (apparently).

maybe, depends on if im still awake, they are keeping all the upper levels of the car park around meadowhall open so you will be able to get an awsome view of them going down, although i can see them from my back garden so i might just watch from there.

.....however they are a bit of a landmark, as when I pass them on a drive to Yorkshire, I know that I'm finally in the North ;)
