my autobox may be up the duff :headvswal

 

i have a 1990 uk tt zed am i able to fit any autobox in my zed ie is the import different to uk? and is the turbo box different to a n/a?

 

any help much appreciated

My experience is that Euro-spec AT's seem to fail far less then the import boxes and when they do fail they have run at least twice the mileage...

This may be due to the fact that the Euro/UK spec cars have a better heat exchanger, so better cooling for the box.

Anyway, physically all TT autoboxes (EURO/UK/US/JAP) are the same and are interchangable.

 

the non turbo automatic gearbox (+ driveshaft) is different.

it can be made to fit a TT, but it won't last very long.

Would concur there. My UK Euro spec expired at 140k miles plus and was replaced with a box from an import that had recently been reconditioned. It works exactly as before using the UK box ecu.
