Hi all,

Been caught speeding in the Zed, had a letter back from the police saying that instead of points or a fine been offered the option of a speed awareness workshop.

Has anybody been on one of these as going to take this option?

Thanks

I know a few people who have taken it.... you still pay a fine, but don't take any points on your licence :)

Its just a one day thing - I'd do it if I was caught - Worth it as it saves your butt with points (unless you get caught again)

My dad took this option recently, you pay a bit more than the fine i think, but no points. My dad said it was quite usefull really, as what they taught him was stuff he did'nt really know! Also they showed him all the different type of speed cameras and locations etc.... Gotta be worth it for that alone!!! ;) :)

thanks for the replys i will take up the option of the corse it is £95 pounds but should be intresting the answer is not to be caught speeding thanks all

Good luck, don't forget to take a large sick bak and pass it around. It will be full of propaganda telling you how many children can be saved if we all slowed down just 1 mile per hour, and such tripe.

You must have been caught by a van I guess? Doing just above the limit? You know, if these scum were all sacked and re-employed in hospitals with a mop and disinfectant, they could actually save some lives. But that's too much like real work.

if it was a mobile van then take the course. if it was a permanent camera do not even admit liability they then decide wether its worth the tax payers money to take it to court ive had 2 dropped 1 in my car and one in my truck i have been very carefull since ps if you havent already got one get the news of the world and buy that book thats always advertized on getting roung court action in motoring its a very worth wile book and has helped many people get off ;)

I dont need a book to get off :xxx: just memory :)

i have attended one of these and i have to admit that it wasnt quite so sickly as i had imagined - i was sure they were going to force statistics down my throat and show me pictures of accidents etc. but in the end it was quite a positive day (not just cos i dodged the points). although of course it depends who runs your course...

been on one for doing 33 in a 30 ......not even police but one of those plastic wannabes tossers in their white van .....was worth it , quite proactive although i found the instructor very condescending ......next day van there again so i pulled up in his line of vission and lifted my bonnet blocking his camera ....sorry mate ive broke down waiting for the AA ......sat in the car and read my paper till they bogged off ......
