Ok the thread size for my aftermarket oil pressure sender is 1/8 npt the stock size is too small and it wont screw in, Ive also tried to screw it in the blank hole just off the side of the oil filter but tahts also the wrong size and now my driveway is very oily ggrrrrr

I dont want a sandwiche plate so where could i find an aftermarket sender that will fit in the blank next to the oil filter? one that will work with my gauge?

Or can i buy a thread adapter to screw it in? but then i think it might get in the way of the lower steering knuckle ggrrrrr.

So annoying :(

thats odd as my 1/8 aftermarket one was a direct replacment for the stock one.

They come with adapters to make the thread larger but not sure what size they are.

Why don't you want a sarnie plate ? I have a Greddy one and no problem at all ;) Apart from when I first put the sender in after about 10 miles my lower steering knuckle knocked the sender off, oil everywhere :nelson: replaced and repositioned it and no problems at all since ;)

im about to do this tomo!

my Greddy Sender is 1/8 NPT.

on my S13 the standard hole seemed to small, but it was just right.

keep trying, and makde sure you are plumbing it in at 90 degrees.

the standard sendor is the opposire side of the engine to the oil filter i was told?

can you comfirm this?

yes it is at the opposite side.

Wanna keep the standard just so i dont have a dead stock gauge.

So where can i get an aftermarket sender then?

mine is defo wrong size put both threads toether and there is a slight differene :(

I might be taking nuts but would it not be possible to splice into the originakl sender wires en route to the stock gauge? That way both gauges would work off the stock sender?

....actually...I'm guessin that would defeat the point of getting new, 'more accurate' gauges?

Eh? What do you mean it was reading the wrong way round?? BUT....if you find a decent sarny plate, get 2! lol...I know the GReddy one is around on the net but waiting 6weeks or something to get it isn't much fun! If you find a decent one...get me one as well and pm/FB me the amount and I'll send it over asap!

Cheers bud!

i have a adapter,

plugs into the standard oil pressure sender,

then it has 3 take offs!

so can plumb the standard one in, the aftermarket, and a spare (for oil temp)

only cost about a tenner,

PS heres a good place,

this is where i got the adapter from..

http://www.gaugeplace.co.uk/shop/

also has cheap sandwich plates, half the price of the greddy ones.

also have the sendors etc on (which dont work with greddy gauges grrr)

That is perfect mate. just what we need. :D

no worries :)

adapter comes with braided hose i beleive (had it some time ago)

so you can plug the oil pressure sensors in a differecnt location, if space is tight.

i didnt need it on the S13.

yea that site is good, and the guy who works there is helpful also.

:)
