You will require a booster seat by law. I think if they are under 12 years old or under a certain height, but I am not entirely sure of the exact legal age or height.

A 4 year old does need a booster seat but with the back seats like a bucket the booster seat has a big hole under it! but they seem to sit in there nice when your kids are sat in it,... as I know, I have 3 kids!!!

Been looking at a few official websites and they talk about the appropriate "child restraint" if over 4 or 4 1/2 feet tall....??

Does "restraint" mean the booster seat?

Also Ronnie can you reccomend a booster seat....what do you use???

Cheers fella

Alex

Im pretty sure 'restraint' means the seat belt as the booster seat is just to bump the child to a good hight for the seat belt to fit round them properly unless your thinking of buying a car seat with a backing connected to booster seat? then the seat belt will fit in and around the child seat and another belt fitted to child seat 'for the child'! then they only fit in the front!

Your best bet would be to goto Mothercare they would advise you on what is best or maybe give them a call. I cant advise you on a booster seat as I bought mine a few years ago but for a zed get one as slim as possible! I know a car seat only fits in the front as I also have a 1 year old!

Hope you can make sense of that?!

Ronnie,

I can fit a child seat in the back (we have a 2 year old) - it's a Mama's and Papa's one. It does require the passenger seat to be right forward however, and the back rest still touches his feet - but then we don't take the Z much when we have the little man on-board. Shame, cos he loves it!

We have another baby-seat from Bebé Confort, and there's no way that fits, so it is a case of shopping around.

What do you use in the front? I assume you don't have seat belts in the door, which I do, precluding the use of a normal seat belt attached seat.

Looking forward to when he can sit still on a booster cushion! :hyper:

Alex - keep us posted as to how you get on.

Hi JB

Went to Mothercare yesterday lots of booster seats and no shop assistants.....

Also had a look at Argos also lots of seats....

Like you i won't use the Z that much but i do want to get one that fits my wife's car and the Z.....

Think it's a case of going to Halfrauds and just trying a few out....

Might pop over this afternoon and try a few out there...wil let you know how i get on....
