I have been suffering of late with sqeaking brakes!! The car wasn't used most of last year due to engine problems. I used for a month when i got it back and squeak n squalk went the brakes.

I have changed the pads, fluid and extended and retracted all pistons to full, repeating a few times making sure there were no siezed pistons. Anyway 2 months later and its back aaaaaarrrrrrrrrr:cry:

Is there a service kit anyone can recommend before i rip them apart or any tips as i know what the zed is like for its curious design lol

Cheers

Do you have the pad shims installed, and have you used copper grease on the back of the pads ?

Yer bud all shimed and greased. They seem to rub after 10 mins driving. I think i must have a few pistons sticking once the brakes are warm.

i know it sounds silly but possible,,,,you have'nt got a stone between the discs and pads, i had the same problem and i ended up changing the lot and its been ok since.

I checked that already, definatly a rubbing

you might have a build up of brake dust, just got a tin of brake cleaner on them and see what that does

I've had this problems for ages and it's driving me nuts.

I've got the R33 GTR Calipers. The pads are good and the discs are good. I took them off a few weeks ago to clean and re - greece them, but withing about 10 miles they are fooking squeeling again.

I'm going to rebuild my calipers soon and replace the pads with ds2500's ( I think that's what they are called) - someone correct me if I'm wrong.

ya probably not wrong Stu but i can correct you if ya want :mac1:

sometimes it helps to make a few high speed stops.

don't let the car come to a full stop, just brake hard..to the point the ABS wants to kick in.

Are you sure its not the pad compound some track type pads this sqeaking is normal.:)

yes me too, squeaking brakes nightmare.got a new seal kit from bigred and fitted them on Sunday.no more squeaking.had the pads out a few times, pushed the pistons out a few times as well, but nothing seemed to work.i think it might be time for the refurb.might be worth a few hours of rolling on the floor and getting dirty[pardon the expression].

anyway thats my 2 pence worth.

If your planning on keeping the car, pop down to A.R.E motor factors in Farnham with the calipers. They do an excellent job on full refurbs on calipers, with all new seals and teflon coated pistons and sliders etc.

My best mate recently had a set of subaru 4pots done and they did an ace job
