Ahhh Bugger, basically its like the Quashqai I have posted, but I built mine up on the Nissan website, it was in Pearl Black, with the panoramic roof/sat nav/alloys/leather etc, came to just short of 19K. ;)

What is the tax like on those? Thats the main consideration for my sister when she is picking company cars.

Also can i make a suggestion, my sister got the Avensis when it was first released (the newest one i mean) and that was an absolutely superb car for the money!

This is the clever bit, Its a new company car system, the 19K, is classed as an interest free loan from my company, so the car is classed as mine. so I dont pay tax on it. plus the company get tax relief on the loan. obviously my firm deduct a sum from my wage monthly to repay the loan, but it works out cheaper than If I was paying tax on it. :)

I have just got a new Qashqai Rich. Got a 2.0 Tekna Turbo Diesel (top spec). Absolutely love it. Best Nissan I've ever had (apart from my Zed obviously LOL).

Certainly recommend it matey.

i know what you mean but if you are doing a lot of miles forget a 4x4 - think of the price of petrol :headvswal:headvswal

Mine is the 2WD version. It gets mid forties to the gallon.

Citroen C4 picasso , flappy paddle gearchange , all electric everything dual climate control bags and bags of room , sat nav built in , duke box mp3 cd player ( remembers the cds as mp3's on a 60gb hard drive so you never need to load them again ) nearly 50 to the gallon 1.6 diesel i love it

I heard about that system too. Does the car have to be new? I mean could you also take a recent V8 and add an LPG kit to it? You can get conversions for £1800 ish the fuel economy is then diesel like in cost terms

what about an s-type 2.7 twin turbo diesel, there a crackin moter them Rich and i might even wangle some discount for ya wink wink nudge nudge, lol.

You have to be quite careful with some of the new nissans, im not sure on the 2.0D ones but steer clear of the 2.2D used in the x trail, almera and primera, very prone to cam chain stretch and the vnt mechanism packs up on the turbo causing overboost and turbo death.

As for the avensis, the D4D models use a dual mass flywheel to minimise vibration in the new higher power diesel cars, and these are quite common faliures too.

Having said that if your not paying for repairs then who cares!!

S-type looks like a horrible Rover 75. Really ungainly looking.

I know they have similar underpinnings to the Mondeo, but as far as looks go, this X-type is my fav. Such a pretty looking saloon car. You can't get a new one for £19k though, but a 1 year old one you should be able to.

Depreciation is terrible though - £19k for a 1 year old car, then it's worth £10k another 12-18 months later, if you are lucky:tongue:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

From my days in an accountancy practice, I remember that if you receive an interest free loan over £5k from your employer, then the "saved interest" is classed as a taxable benefit in kind.

Have you looked into what, if any, tax liability you will incur, mate?

Also with many low emissions diesel cars now - eg VW/Audi, the tax on a £19k motor like a VW Passat is not actually too bad. It's tax on the fuel benefit that costs!
