Scott has just rang to tell me the "super dooper forged engine" I bought of JD'z has a problem. How much of a problem determines what I do with teh car, so there maybe some bits for sale tonight as I am sick and tired of being ripped off with this car. This is now the 3rd time

dont give up Chris, its too nice to stop the work on it.

Dude stop fooking about trying to get bargains and tell scott to build the engine you want and give him a list of parts and let him get on with it.

Its the ONLY way you will end up with what you want.

Is this scott at redline on the A127 ?.

Depending on what the problem is is it not worth just getting it sorted by him. He knows what he's doing so you can be sure that it's gonna be good.

If you do decide to give up and break the car, 1st dibs on the coil overs lol :).

Seriously though, I really hope you an get it sorted and just enjoy driving it for a change.

hang in their Chris ...its along haul getting these cars right, but the way they still turn heads and go and sound and make you feel when you rip the doors off the pikey in the Cayman S at the private traffic lights officer is just too good to give up

Sory folks. I am not geting rid of the car, but im not wasting any more money on it, im also not happy that people on here knew there was an issue with the engine and didnt feel it worth while letting other members know who would be buying it.

Sound advice indeed. Thats just what I am currently doing only it is not with Scott but someone else down Essex way.

IMO starting with other peoples cast-offs is a no-no.

Just had mine rebuilt by scott but its missfiring on number 6 :( he will be taking it apart again though.

What's the prob witht he engine?? is it bad... sorry i dont know the story behind it, but from the sounds of it there was some miss givings with reguards the state of said engine...... is it not sortable??

If scott knows what he's doing then why the hell have i got zero compression from number 6 after a fresh build with 50 miles??

No Idea have you spoken to scott? Thats where I would start.

spoke to Oly he said scott will ring me but hes not answering phone now.

I cant beleive how badly the engine was.

Bores where machined by a dremmell by the looks of it, no realy they are that bad.

Conrods where round the wrong way. no seriously

Pistons are obviously dammaged and scrap

Heads have valve clearance and oil journal issues caused probably through bad fitting of valves and oil feed starvation

Crank on number 6 pot is in need of major work.

All in all the engine was not fit for purpose. Im just realy glad I didnt fit it without checking it first, nothing is salvageable.

Its becouse of the the possibility of having the type of problems that you are experiencing with your engine, that i wouldnt ever take mine to a garage for work doing to it.

If something needs doing to it i would stick to doing it yourself and taking parts individually to the correct specialist for the part that you need doing and then rebuild it yourself.

Thats the only way to make sure that it gets done right. First time every time.

but what I am most pissed about is that people on here kknew John was having problems with a smokey engine and had asked tehir advice, they then kept stum when he sold it.:nono:
