hurtling down the motorway at the weekend i started to brake lightly as i approaced the sliproad and heard a slight banging from n/s/r wheel, only happened when braked that first time so pulled off motorway and stopped car.

checked around the car and nothing appeared wrong, gave the wheel a gentle push and pull and found slight play.

undid the centre cap and found 1 stud sheared clean off with 1/2 inside my locking wheel nut :( all the others were very loose :(

tightened the remaining 4 up as tight as i could and trundled off home.

gonna take it to the garage later in the week, what sort of price am i looking at to get fixed?

i guess i will have to buy 4 x new long wheel nuts now :(

damn, front end respray will have to wait another couple of weeks :headvswal

c'est la vie

repalce them your self... i did.... took about an hour, they are wedge tyoe ones so just knock out... cost about £2.50 each iirc.....

Spacers or loose wheel nuts are a common problem for bolt shearing, do you have wheel spacers ? if so you may need the longer bolts that nismo make.

no no spacers on there, will just take it to my local mechanic chap who will sort it out! i will end up making a mess of it somehow if i did it myself!

take it its not really safe to drive with only 4??

well no but i did for a while.. with out realising i mights add... it was ony when mine went and i looked round the car to see how many i needed that i noticed.. looks like the guy had locking wheel nuts and lost the key and busted the nuts off so only had 4 on each wheel...... needless to say i changed them all..... but i had the car about 6 months before that happend.... oh and this was my old black zed not the yellow one....

take it its not really safe to drive with only 4??

You'll be fine, just don't drive it for prolonged periods of time like that ;) :)
