Hi all,

My engine is nearly complete ;)

Ive been wondering what sort of power i will achieve, Ive had a few guesses from a few mates with modded cars but none of them are Zeds.

Im hoping a few people on here who know there stuff may have some sort of idea.

My link is below for my mods.

Kind regards

Dan

i recognise that setup ;) should net you over 500 at the rear wheels. You have the doolz so the MAF won't hold you back. Has the potential for 550+ with good mapping and high boost.

hi smithy ill be ditching the maf and going the stand alone ecu route. Is that at the fly?

Nope that was rear wheel horse power and assuming a good chip is being used for the 740cc injectors, I only know of DTA who do them for that spec.

Me and Jaffa have different veiws on the Doolz capability ( we threashed it out once :p) so i'd love to see some good figures with it ;)

Mapping by say John Dixon would maybe see a bit more and with the likes of AEM, even more again is possible.

Good luck!

Top stuff :)

I think the zen garage BMC brace will net you the most gains :D

I would ditch the prvr system as well?

Also I would be wary of running the Nismo thermostat it may be ok for track racing but for road use is a bit overkill?

Thanks guys I didnt think I would gain that amount of power at the wheels.

Will I be able to use that sort of power or will it be a wheel spinning mess?

Topless what is the prvr system?

I think there is a few parts on the list i required off you! The cylider brace is the main source of the power:rofl:

Mario Hope your not having any regrets.

Shall i ditch the nismo thermostat?

Also is there anything else you would advise to help with the performance or reliablity.

I was thinking of a spark amplifier etc

These are the only up to date pics i have of the engine since its been at the Garage. This is before I sent the rest of the parts I bought from Mario and Z1

Dan

Hi Dan, it is a very easy 5 min job to remove the PRVR system, will do it Gratis if you let me have an ogle at your car :)

I could well be wrong but it doesn't look like you have the iconel manifolds on the engine in the pictures, and yes if I was you I would just put a stock new thermostat back on!

Hi Topless your right they were my original ported manifolds in that pic;)

Feel free to come and have a look at the Zed mate but its still in restoration mode at the moment. But it has come along way since it was a bare shell.

Its taking forever to finish this project but ive never done anything like this before. Im leaning as im going along

What rate spark plugs are you running Dan ?, have you made provision for removing the cast flashing in the water ways in the block ? a bit of nitrous to assist the getaway wouldnt go amiss :) it would also help to cool the charge !

also running that kind of power the heat build up under the bonnet will be substaitially higher than standard especially at higher boost figures ..i would give consideration toa vented bonnet or custom vent your own to dissopate some of the heat

also for the price it would be worth while changing the wiring loom in my opinion

good luck mate

Hi Steve,

My spark plugs are rate 7 im not sure if that is good enough now but i may just keep them for the running in stage.

As for the cast flashing i havent touched it as i never new anything could be done to them its abit late now as the main part of the engine work is done now:mad:

Im not sure about vents in the bonnet ive seen a lot higher spec zeds without them. But i have bought some heat wrap to wrap the intake pipes up with when they are not on show.

You mention "wheel spinning mess". without traction control you may have problems even in fourth gear. That sort of power will command some respect and need careful application otherwise :wack:.its gonna be quick.
