Hi guys, how much bhp will the auto box take or would it better for me to get a manual conversion done, i want to shove as much power as i can in my 32z tt the manual conversion is £1100 with parts and labour, cheers.

Here is a can of worms, apparently the autobox is stronger, but only the later redesigned ones (93 onwards maybe??) However thats when new, most are getting ropey with age so a full rebuild would be on the cards for one to make it strong.

The manual boxes seem to fair better with age and can hold BIG BIG power even with some miles on the clock.

Depends if your wanting to actually spend money on rebuilding a box, or just stick with a used one.

Auto box is apparently better but I love the manual over the auto any day of the week.

Then again MAC1 twould like his fast road autobox back

i wouldnt of thought either box wil last very long with the kind of power mac1 runs. I'm sure I heard somewhere the skyline 6 speed box will go in, if your bank manager will let you ofcourse.
