Hi,

Im in need of some advise for achieving the best out of my setup!

Im thinking with the spec of my engine now which should be finished soon hopefully:headvswal

Would i need a oil catch tank? or maybe a bigger one?

Also with the higher spec engines would it be advisable to add a spark aplifier to increase the spark as i think i will be running alot more boost than norm?

Link to my spec is below!

Thanks

Dan

Lee7S is running some sort of spark amplifying system, HKS system i think. He ordered it from Japan so he's propably the best person to speak to

Cant really help you with the oil catch tank, dont know much about them.

best having a word with MAC1 mate...click on his rides and enjoy the read..he's done away with the coil packs all together;)

is there anyone that can help?????????????????

Oh go on then, lol

The higher the spec doesn't always determine that a catch tank is required, certainly not on the zed.

Often crankcase pressure is increased when upping the boost and power, however by how much is the problem. If you look around you'll see there is no purpose made and ready to fit catch tank for a zed, only universal ones, reason being is cos they are seldom required. It's not a bad thing if you want to make one and plumb it into the system, though personally i'd go with a PCV re route to prevent the valves clogging up so quickly if crankcase pressure is increased.

Woody75 denver on twinturbo.net done a great write up showing the feeds coming from the rockers highest point and over the back of the engine. If your rockers are not fitted, i'd go that route. PCV valves however are not all rated the same, find out the PSI rating of ours and you can go up a certain amount too.

HKS Amps appear to be used quite commonly across the pond and yes i would certainly try one of them, also changing the coil packs to the splitfires imo would be of use to you, however based on their performance of Jap cars in general, again not many zedders use them.

Hope that helps
