Auto v Manual

Before I make any final decisions about getting a manual Z I was just wondering if there are really any differences between the two. Is there any difference in the cost or regularity of maintainance? Is one more reliable than the other? I would prefer to have a manual as YOU can drive the car rather than the car driving you but there is so much more choice if you want a manual. Any help or comments appreciated.

I do most of my driving in and around London, so therefore spend most of my time in traffic. Stop, crawl, stop,crawl,stop.... so I bought an auto. I love it! It's very responsive, if you're a gear too high then just a milimetre of extra travel on the go pedal will have it drop down and blast off past most things, and on motorways the smoothness of the change up/down makes overtaking a breeze.

If I had a manual I would spend far too much time in traffic playing with me KNOB!!! There, someone had to do a knob reference!

NitroPow,

What is a torque converter and where can I get one?

I'm the same, I bought an auto coz I don't live in the big shitty and when I used to use the Jap Dustbin for work I would invariably end up stuck in Brum! Clutch down and up...and down and up...down and up...down and...up...and...down and up again!!

You get the idea and after say oh about 2 hours of that your left leg doesn't want to play the "Up and Down" game anymore. biggrin.gif

I also now agree with what someone else recommended about buying a mint auto and then performing a manwell perversion on it! LMFAO biggrin.gif

That way with the smaller auto hairdryers under the bonnet twinned with a manual you will not only blow auto Z's away but piss all over the stock manual Z opposition aswell!

Jobs a goodun and make mine a pint will ya! Cheers. wink.gif

"New York's such a wonderful city. Although I was at the library today.

The guys are very rude. I said, "I'd like a card." He says, "You have to

prove you're a citizen of New York." So I stabbed him."
