I live in a semi rural village in the New Forest so wildlife is obviously quite abundant and we had been thinking there were mice or even rats in the area. I got a call today from the other half in apanic, she had seen a rat about eight inches long run in through the kitchen door into the lounge and out into the hallway. I com home from work to try and find it but have no idea where it has gone so I go back to work. Anyway I have just finished work again and came in and she tells me there is a smaller one come in the same way and gone behind the boys toys. I started looking thinking it would have gone and found it. I have now caught it in a bucket and filled it with water and covered the top. I feel a little guilty now as I have drowned the rat! Now got to catch the parent and any others that venture our way. Can't put poison down because of my little boy and our dog.

I was expecting a thread saying something along the lines of 'I caught my missus shagging the milkman'.

We had a bit of a rat problem in our village a few months ago, it was even on the local news..

My neighbour and I got some of these .. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SONIC-MOUSE-RAT-RODENT-REPELLER-DETERRENT-TRAP_W0QQitemZ180250832521QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180250832521&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 .. And we haven't had one rat or mouse since!!

I will look into the sonic device...

It worked more or less instantly for us Martyn, and has no effect on the dog either, we just leave them plugged in all the time around the house.. Not noticed any difference in energy use either.

I was astonished at how well they worked for us..

Ye I was amazed too, I had loads of mice from the students in the main house, they were keeping me up at night, drove me mad but when invested it the one from wilkinsons worked within 3 days, well recommended:bow:
