Hi - My Zed's just failed it's MoT:cry:

Main reason was "Nearside front steering rack gaiter split".

Any advice on where's the best place to buy one?

Also an 'advisory' that the fuel pipes are corroded. Is it a big job to change them?

for your gaiter ,mike at mjp will be your best bet

as for your brake line try just rubbing them down may just be surface corrosion, my old gt4 failed its mot on this took it home rubbed them down and they came up like brand new took it back and got its mot:nana2:

Go buy a QG1000 from any motor factors, they a near perfect fit for a zed rack, only cost you about 7 or 8 quid for the pair and most places will keep em on the shelf.

Thanks b19rks, I've posted Mike @ MJP for a price and will compare it against your suggestion.

When I take it back in for retest after fitting new gaiter I will ask them to show me the "fuel pipe/s corroded"

There is ebay listing - 220183162654 £14.99 for the pair

They look like QG1000's to me, should be about half that price if they are!

Been phoning around today and found some at my local 'Camberley Auto Factors' for £14.46.

They say the QG1000 was renamed SGK1000 and it's current reference is DUG1.

A lot cheaper than the £46.81 I've been quoted for the 'real thing' so I guess I'll take a chance with the cheapies!

Even better, I managed to get discount and only had to pay £12.57 - they are being fitted Wednesday morning by same garage that did the MoT so I should be okey-dokey by lunchtime.

Thanks everyone for your help (freely given as usual.......what a great club this is).
