My UK Z continues to rust at the rear arches, even after having a full respray and numerous repairs including new metal welded in places.

One idea i had is to fit a wide arch kit and zenon rear bumper (zcentre) to my Z as to cover the rust up, I know its not the best way to do things but if the rust is only on the outer arch its not particularly important to have it mint (correct???)

As it only looks bad do you think i would get away with covering it with a kit, or would the bubbling paint interfere with the fitting of the kit?

Cheers guys

you pretty much have to cut the rear arches to shreds anyway to fit a wide arse.

May be worth getting it back to bare metal and preping it where the rust is, then starting work on it.

scrap it and buy one that doesnt rust??? Seems to be the best way these days since they are so cheap!

a GOOD bodyshop should be able to sort this for you, if your gonna go wide arch as Stu said you have to cut it all out anyway so your getting the best of both worlds

If it's rusty it's not worth repairing. You will have a car that has had rusty metal cut out and new welded in and it will cost plenty to have it done and still be worth less than one that's had/got no rust. Unless you are really attatched to it, don't repair it.

Either re-shell it or break it and buy a rust free one

if ya got rust on the outside, ill put money on the inner parts are 1000 times worse.
