Just read this on Piston Heads

Is it me, or is this turning out to be the most publicised political suicide there has been in years???

I mean "A Treasury spokesman denied that fuel taxes were too high, saying they were justified because they were green and designed to reduce carbon consumption."

Idiots!

Exactly!

And if it were really about reducing CO2 then the government should expect a severe cut in car use, leading to reduced fuel sales. BUT they are continuing to plan how the extra tax money will be spent, rather than expecting less tax income as we all suddenly get green consciences??

What a great country we live in:mad:

On top of that there would be more or the same amount of CO2 with the extra diesel guzzling busses that they would put on the roads theres to many as it is pumping black smoke out all day long.

If they could they would tax the air that we breath just to squeeze abit more money out of us.:rant:

I believe they would aswell Dan

typical of how these chaps govern the country. if they dont want you to stop doing something, or they want you to change what youre doing, theyll tax you literally into submission. they dont care what the alternatives are (or whether theyre impractical or rediculous), they dont care how you change, they'll just turn the heat up and up.

just goes to show how autistically out of touch they are - any f***ing idiot could tell from the local election results that no bugger wants them :xxx:

all IMO of course :)

Been traveling to birmingham and one day we went past fuel stations and we have a diesel and

one day it was

129.9

and over night gone up to

131.9

Really bad petrol isn`t that bad
