My drivers door has just decided to start dropping. Has anyone else had this problem:headvswal Looks as if its a wing off job. Has anyone got any hints on this as its a heavy door to start playing with. I think it may have something to do with the shunt i received a few weeks ago. And the brakes have now decided to start squealing really loud. Ive looked and have pad wear left but think they may have become glazed also got leaky Targa seals aswell. Not bad for only having the car back since feb LOL:rant: Not giving up though!!!:)

Just slacken off all hinge bolts and pop a bottle jack or scissor under far edge of door jack abit and retighten bolts.Should sort it Bud.

Have you got your car at the moment, just nip out and open the door, you should be able to see if you can or not :)

I've never looked at the hinges on a ZX however i have changed a few doors in the past, its usually a socket or spanner job, and i've never needed to take a wing off for access. A zed is a very different car, however most things like that are similar. Pretty simple job i would think bud :)

yes you can get to them with the door open !

I tried the washer under the lower hinge bolt and i worked fine.:)

The old trick was to open the door and grab it from underneath and lift upwards a bit at a time till the hinges bend enough and the drop has gone.Always worked on fords.Had many three door fords years ago and the doors always dropped.

Thats why i asked if it was common. Im looking at it now but just can't see how you can get to the bolts without scratching the paint!!?? Simple job.....simple fix......simple zed....NOT!!!!

Looks pants with washer under hinge, do a Jimmer and try and lift the door, I have done this in the past also.
