Well have decided to change the Gear box oil on my 91 NA jap spec, now I have read that it has no drain plug so have to take the whole underside off and will aloow me to check the filter also and replace if need be, I am doing this because I checked the transmission fluid today and its more of a pinky orange and had some dirt on the dip stick as to being red......... Now the question is I dont want to go pouring the most expensive stuff in so what it my best bet? and what capacity am I looking at as I red 11 litres somewhere then 9 and finally 4-5 on a usa site so am a little bit confused :S

 

Any advice would be great :D

hi mate my n/a had a drain plug for the gearbox so yours should have one

think its 8 litres of dexron III mate

And you wont neccesarily have a sump plug.just because another NA has one.

ime sure the j-specs have plugs and uk,s dont

thats the stuff thats in it :S but thanks guys good to know there may be a drain plug :D.

Now to find a fairly decent/cheapish (not 3 quid a litre) dexron 3 oil.
