well, the dipstick keeps working its way out (only a cm, or so) and ive noticed a bit of blue smoke on start up on the morns, its lookin like an engine rebuild in the near future (or swop for a good engine), im also hoping to get some coilovers and a new bumper in the very near future so ive decided it may be staying a bit longer than i thought,

who knows if i do get this stuff done i may fall back in love with it:(

Al, if you get the mechanics sorted, then you've got one lovely car there mate....even if it is a Newcastle United supporters car. LOL :D:rofl:

i wouldn't do an engine swop IMO its a big gamble if its a good engine i always wanted to rebuild my zeds engine for the crack and atleast you would know whats been gone . are you mechanically minded that you could do it yourself

changed your PCV's lately? if not they might be blocked, causing the excess pressure and dipstick to pop out

Just what I was going to say. I read a tech article somewhere that said if they're stuck closed it'll pop your dipstick out (so to speak) and maybe smoke a little. Gotta be worth a shot as it's not an expensive fix.

hmmm, never thought of that, it only pops the dipstick a cm or so, how much ae these and where from

sits with fingers crossed lol

they dont cost much Al, IIRC they're about £80

£80 quid ATM is a lot of money for me lol, would like to check them before i fork out for them, you aint passing mine anytime over the weekend are ya lol

  • Author

cheers bud, not sure i would buy from the states but atleast it has a diagram of where they are, gonna have a good look at them over the weekend

Hi mate, Iv'e just bought some pcv's from Smithy'd place £80 delivered, they come with all the hoses too.

If the dipstick is blowing out, it aint PCV's. been through this with other Zeds and it usually down to rings / piston damage. Bite the bullet and get it done, you will probaly fall in love with it again and keep it. It's probably this that is giving you the current running problems.

its not blowing out, its just moving out a cm, its not like its hitting the bonnet, im keeping my fingers crossed lol

haha funny you posted that, i once had a really smoky turbo on a saab 9000 so i filled it with just that stuff and it worked for about a day haha that was a right laugh, bought the car for 100 quid and run it till it blew. smoke everywhere but hay we kept going and going till we couldnt see pat the smoke.
