What colours would you choose?

Im also painting my timing belt covers... but again not sure on a colour yet and what paint to use and laquor.

How did you get your stuff polished up like that j1mmytt? Would like to do a bit of tarting up of the engine bay myself but haven't got a clue about the best way to polish or spray this kind of stuff...

Im not the best person to ask about polishing. But i think to get a mirror finish you have to work you way from wet and dry 400-1200 then use a polish mop to get that shiny finish. i just used a wire brush drill to polish the rad pipes and cas.

for the rocker covers I used a wire brush drill to clean off the old crap and paint, it just happened to make it look slightly polished.

then i cleaned everything thouroughly gave it 2 primer coats and left to dry.

Next stage was to wet and dry again using 800 grit, clean and dry and spray my first coat of black, wet and dry using 1200, next coat of black and so on.

Great stuff - thanks. At least I know where to start now! I'll give it a go when I've got some spare time and a plentiful supply of elbow grease...

Do you think i can get away with not smoothing out the plenum and painting it glossy red? i dont mind the bumpyness. Anyone know type of paint to use for the plenum? Wouldnt have to be heat resistant as i know it doesnt get hot enough.
