seems like the cheapest and easiest way forward

also which bits do you keep as i hav new turbos and a few other bolt on aftermarket stuff such as silicone hoses, bovs, 1bar chip etc

any knowledge about it please? before i contact them

What is the problem with yours? If its not mechanical then no number of engine swaps is going to sort it lol

smoking badly! on idle, smoke screen!

new turbos

new pcvs

i giv up! well almost,

im sure another engine would sort it? hopefully... ? lol

How long since the tubs were replaced? It takes a LONG time for oil in the exhaust to burn off!

As Legrath says, do a compression test. Is it blowing the dipstick out on boost? A damaged engine will typically smoke a lot more on boost than off it...

prob only done 100miles if that since replacing turbos and pcvs, honestly too embarassed to drive it around! iv been walking everywhere, :-(

not done a compression test, smoke is mostly from rhs exhaust at idle, and it is very bad

More than likely just oil still in the exhaust that needs burning off. Easy to tell - if you remove the exhaust including the cats and see if it smokes on idle then. Obviously its quite loud though so don't annoy the neighbours lol

got no cats just a pair of boxes, will this make much difference?

Don't matter, just remove the entire exhaust and try running it

My query is, who replaced the tubs and the PCV valves for you without testing the basic engine condition. Sounds like you have been had over by someone unfamiliar with Zeds. You need to get the engine surveyed mechanically to assess its condition. I am sure someone like Zedworld would do that before recommending an engine change.

ok, neighbours will love me lol

at least that would rule out, or in the exhausts

worth a try

thanks

hi old zed

i live in the south coast

ade 41,

hi I had replacement turbos done by jeff at zedworld,he's a nice enough bloke but he said he'd road tested the zed he had'nt where he's situated its wall to wall traffic (once you leave his farm),when i drove it all sorts of muck came out of the exhaust for miles and miles, also i got it back with an oil leak on the new turbos and he let me drive it home (300mls) with no battery stay or ties and various sensors not reconnected and i live in newcastle, maybe i was unlucky?, it took several phone calls and quite a wait for the battery stay to be sent, also he said he would send photos he took whilest the turbos were being replaced they never turned up, he said (" bring it back") but its to far away,

same for you to

cheers

Yes mate it is an easy option, providing that is what is needed, as said here it maybe something else, however that can be looked into.

You get a fully gaurnteed and serviced engine including new cambelt, any parts from yours you want transferring isn't usually a problem.

It is a fair hike to travel, so ask about testing options before you leave tamwworth so you know what your getting before you travel home.

They have done this job numerous times, but like ANY garage, for every 1 negative reply a garage, you'll usually get 10 positive, so go with your gut feeling.

As also said though, Jimmer is an excellent engine builder in his own time and so doesn't have the associated customers every day problems, however rebuilding your own and with labour etc maybe more expensive, again you can only enquire :)
