Need to change reaer barke disks and pads, not done them b4 on the zed, 93 jap import, how do i get pistons back? is it rewind tool or normal piston pusher? and is there anything i should watch out for, cos am aware that some jap cars are notoriously difficult to do.

Second, just bought all singing and dancing stereo, sat nav touch screen etc but is double din and there are 2 single din slots, 1 for cd player, 1 for cubby hole - is there a conversion fascia for this or anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

i used a bent screwdriver to push pistons back and was just patient, worked fine and re double din fascia you can buy but are hard to find and are usually £100+, or you can just modify the twin din, changing rears is a piece of piss, nothing to worry about.

Yep, changing rear pads is a doddle - did mine a couple of weeks ago. Two bolts and a couple of pins/clips and they're out. To push my pots back I left in the old pads (to protect the pots) and wedged a big spanner in there! They all slid back nicely :)

Yeah, how did you manage that? or is it aftermarket?

It is aftermarket, but it's a refabricated new one made by a company out in Japan. I imported it earlier in the year.

Fitting a 2din headunit is a nightmare because if you screw in the stock brackets to the 2 din unit and mount to the dash support, it'll sit at completely the wrong angle.

You have to drill holes in the brackets to reposition the way the headunit sits. It's extremely tricky as you can't get inside to mark off points to re-drill, it's trial and error with some good guestimation.

Took me afternoon of fiddling around with templates, fitting, removing, refitting and so on. Got it sorted, but it's a horrible job, but well worth it in the end. :)
