I'm sure some of you saw this on the news, the poor copper who was set on by a gang of Rangers football yob's. I'm sure we are not all fans of the police but this was just un called for. this is one of the reason's I despise football, you never see this type of thing after a Rugby match!

i live and work in manchester and beleive me the place doesnt look any diffrent now from the day before they came in fact it was clear by yesterday afternoon so all that *****x about manchester being a riot zone is bs. if you are going to let people start drinking 2 days solidly before the event you will get what happened but in all fairness considering the numbers and booze involved the scots were saints compared to manchesters own people.....

 

they didnt even put fireworks on this year at new years eve because of the previous 2 years when around 30 pissed up mancs threw bottles into the crowd and that was a crowd of less than 2k and now they are moaning because the council quite rightly isnt going to put on the same for the mancs to watch the chelsea-man u game im a manc and im glad because i know the manchesters very own supposedly fans would cause 5 times as much aggro in less than half a day and with only a quarter of as many people there

it makes you wonder why they feel the need to do things like that. they should get them all together, and one by one put them in the cage with one of the gracies or shamrocks, see how long they last one on one. makes me ashamed to be british when you see stuff like that. :rant:

this is why they stopped the home nations and will not have friendlys with the scots in this country, too many people come down without tickets just to get pissed up, shouldnt be allowed, if you havent got a ticket you shouldnt be allowed to travel. thay take more away support than there are tickets available, and because they are shit and it only happens once every 10 years, it makes it even worse.

there is alot less crowd violence in Rugby (Union) 99.9% of the time the fans have a good laugh with eachother and its the player the beat 10 shades of shite out of eachother lol

I'm a Rangers fan and was disgusted at what i saw on the news, those few are not fans just mindless idiots. When you think of how many fans were there, there was very few arrests but real supporters should shop the trouble makers and not let them get away with acting like animals and tarnishing the name of the club.

I'll tell you what...the brit fans had better be on their best behaviour in moscow...the ruskies won't just give them a talking to like the coppers here if they start messing about! Always the case when fans go on tour...

They must have a very large inferiority complex, very little intelligence and no interest in the sport. Acts like that are the only way their tiny brains can function, they cant impress with intelligence or looks so they think everyone else is as stupid as they are and will be impresed with them!

if you allow 100,000+ people come into a city and drink from 10am and expect no problems, even if it is only a few who cause the damege, then you are very naive. the council and police force didnt put the correct measures in place and they got caught out, the only eay to stop it is to close the bars and stop the sale of alcohol when things like this are expected, that way the people who turn up to drink all day and cause trouble at night wouldn't bother traveling and things like this wouldnt happen.

Thing is it should not matter how much you have to drink, alcohol should not be an excuse for violence!

dont matter about excuses, and pointing the finger, and calling people yobs and hooligans, those type of people couldnt care less what people think, and it will continue to happen, when people realise there is no party then they wont bother travelling to places like this, you will only get genuine fans with tickets for the game. the rest will stay in there home towns where there will be more preperation from the authorities. councils need to decide if its revenue or reputation of the town, you will never get well behaved football fans in there thousands who have been drinkin all day at midnight.
