my wife is doubled up in pain after the doc prescribed her 1st a medicine that no pharmacy carries because bacteria has got used to it then another one that hasnt worked and the mild infection is now attacking her kidneys and shes in agony.

we just been to a clinic at the hospital and been told that the infection would not of traveled is she had antibiotics quickly, yea that would help if the original prescricption wasnt for a non stocked drug.

to any docs out there.

In 1

and the second prescription hasnt worked either.

had to go to hospital last night, poor cow was in agony, shivering cronicaly and has now a 3rd set. If this dont work she will have to be admitted, even the hospital doctor said the 1st is only good for minor infections.

But you try changing surgery

I totaly agree, what the hell has happened ? They are useless. My friends dad's been walking around with a severe cancer in his lower back because they didn't send tissue for analysis. Another friends brother has a tumer in his brain and the doc's didn't tell him, he found out on a follow up appointment a year later. My good friends baby nearly died because they didn't spot he had pneumonia. They insisted he had a cold for 2 months!!!!!! The receptionist in my office was really unwell last november and the docs said she had hayfever (in Nov ffs!!) and she went back Italy and had such a low hemoglobin count she shouldn't have been walking around!!!

And thats just the recent ones off the top of my head!!

The thing that pisses me off is you will go and see the exact same doctor at a private clinic (Bupa etc) and they will suddenly be switched on and do exactly what they are ment to and prescribe the exact right thing.

I reckon its coz a lot of the docs just see £££££. The make more money privately than they do on NHS !!!

Hope you manage to get is sorted mate

My local doctors are aboslutly rubbish we have had several run ins with them.

On many occasions have messed up my wifes perscription for Insulin and actually said on on occasion when the kept ordering the wrong type, even though she gave them the old boxes and finally ran out "We can get some for you in a few days"

Took my daughter in as she went off her food, slept too mcuh and was generlly acting like she was in a different world, Doctor said it was "probally" a bug of some kind and not to worry. Took her to AE and she was diagnosed with Pneumonia and Menegitis.

My wife went to the doctors in Dec as she suspected she has Pnemonia again as she had it the year before, doctor said it was just a chest infestion, so again she went to the hospital as a precaution and surprise, surprise she had Pnemonia.

Doctors are people and like any person in a job, there are good ones and bad ones.

I have 2 docs near me, one will hand you a sick note for a broken nail but is known for misdiagnosis. The other is more than thorough but he never gets the sick notes out.

I chose the latter.

If you are not happy with your Gp you have every right to switch surgeries!

I've always been happy with my doctor.

But then the last time I went to see him was about 15 years ago!

I get loads of colds and had flu a couple of times but apart from that not a lot else and I just put up with stuff.

Only ever been to the docs for a bad back and tonsilitis years ago LOL

Well I've had a hernia for nearly 2 years, 4 different doctors all said so, but they won't operate because they said it's an inch higher than normal and it doesn't hurt. Nevermind the fact that my intestine is sticking out of my stomach muscle and the blood supply is slowly being cut off and will eventually kill that bit of intestine leaving me with a blood poisoning.

At least I've got something to look forward to!

Can't you say it hurts?? Thats crazy. Demand to see a consultant!!

I did think about faking it but I don't like doing things like that coz I might be tempting fate and all that *****cks. That why I never ring in at work with a fake illness.

I've been told its not bad but I can't see how your intestine sticking out your stomach muscle can't be bad. I might try a new tactic soon of just bombarding the doctors with appointments until they do something about it. If I turn up 3 or 4 times a week with the same problem they'll hopefully do something about it just to get rid of me!

On another note I've been doing loads of overtime for the last 6 months and am paying on average £51 a week national insurance (I think) thats £2652 a year. BUPA costs round about £1500 a year. I know where I would sooner my money go.

I know a couple of people who have been in hospital recently and have been treated terribly, they get no assistance and most of the staff can hardly even speak english.

its only going to get worse im afraid.

Hope you get your wife sorted soon mate.Best wishes from us all.

Really does your head in when you see your loved ones suffering.

Likes been said you get good and bad Dr's but I must admit I have

felt in the past years with different family members with the exception

of Harry, they can't get you out of the surgery quick enough.Like the

old saying goes "the squeaky wheel gets fixed first". So you keep on

at them.

All the best
