I have noticed a few problems.

1. Head lights: Only main beam comes on even when in low beam position the high beam is only on.

2. No speedo: Does not work at all. (could be related to 4.)

3. Stereo back up: Wont hold settings in memory.

4 Power steering goes heavy quite often: (already asked about this).

5 Turbo Timer: Not working. (Going to get a new item soon)

6. Air con: Only comes out hot.

I have been told that the bloke who had it, from which I got it back had a flat battery and put the jump leads on the wrong way round? But he deny's this and has said that some wet got up behind the fuse panel and he had an electrician sort it out. I am not that bothered by it as I can fix it as soon as I have some time but I just wondered if these problems could be something common?

thats an odd collection of problems...maybe bad earth or as you say a faulty jump caused everything to spike out

might be worth leaving the battery off for 1 hour then reconnecting, might reset the ecu back to default?....possibly unplug the ecu entirely for a while?....or try a different battery...and have a look at the earth strap to the car body see if its loose or painted on etc

1. 10A fuse in the panel near the go faster pedal - I had the same thing!

2 - 5. Dunno - don't know enough... yet ;)

6. Again, mine too. I've been told it's likely a mode/air mix door connector or a temp sensor connector that is loose (not got round to sorting it yet though)

1. Head lights: Only main beam comes on even when in low beam position the high beam is only on.

Usually a fuse in the drivers footwell gone.

2. No speedo: Does not work at all. (could be related to 4.)

Easiest thing to do is check if there is a fuse for the clocks and/or check to make sure someone has'nt dislodged the connections at the back.

3. Stereo back up: Wont hold settings in memory.

I THINK that is because a couple of the wires are in the wrong places and causes the headunit to reset everytime you turn of the engine.

4 Power steering goes heavy quite often: (already asked about this).

This is more than likely bacause of your speedo, like you said.

5 Turbo Timer: Not working. (Going to get a new item soon)

Dunno anything at all about this, maybe they have a fuse of their own like a headunit does.

6. Air con: Only comes out hot.

Re-gas might sort it.

Done my best there Vini, they would be the things i would check if it were me. :)

Thanks for the reply chaps.

I will check the headlight fuse in a mo. The turbo timer actually works (as in comes on) but it seems to have gotten a mind of its own and does not function properly, I think a new item would be favourite as I never knew how to work it anyway LOL.

The other bits I will systematically check out this week.

again thanks.

vini

My turbo timer gave up the goast when I jump started the car. It did say in the instructions to disconnect it if you were doing this.

The air con is doing the same as mine. It may just be one of the connectors under the dash.

All the others I think will be a fuse. You have a fused permanent live to the radio which is what powers it so it can remember its settings, hence when you disconnect the battery that is what happens.

Good luck with it Vini. Let me know how you fix the aircon.

Cheers Daz. Anyway. I have sorted the Turbo timer out. I took the centre consol out and found a poxy wire off and the Stereo. That was the constant live and switched live crossed? Some one with no fooking idea must have spent half an hour in the car?

The lights I have no idea? I have checked and couldnt find a fuse that corresponds to the lights so checked all of them and nothing is blown. It dont look like this person has been anywhere near the fuse panel...Thank fook.

I havent yet tried to tackle the speedo, I have got to take the instrument panel out anyway so will check that when its out which might in turn sort the heavy steering too.. The aircon fuses are all intact so will have a go at that tomorrow if it aint pi55ing down.

Will keep you posted about the aircon Daz,

Wouldn't bother with a turbo timer anyway.

Thats like having sex and not squeezing her tits Si?

Its there so I might as well use it? And how easy is it to forget to let the car tick over after a good ol thrashing only to find the Turbos have cracked and the seals have failed?

How is it compared to having sex!? LOL

What I was saying/meaning. Don't go wasting you cash on another if this one's broken. ;)

But I got it working now so I can enjoy a full and complete sex life again.

for the aircon it may be that your air mix motors are unplugged or one of the air con ecu senors are unplugged check under dash.

I live in Bedford mate. Fenlake side near tescos. what about you? There are a few 300's in and around bedford town. I have seen a grey one and I think a gunmetal one. I saw one near Halfords the other day with a ferrarri badge on the back.

...with a FERRARI badge?

Not too far from me then - I live in Sandy. And mine's neither of the ones you've seen - I gots me a black one! J-Spec, LWB, standard-ish on the outside.

Nice to have another Zedder close by anyway!

It sucks that I can't PM... maybe I should dig deep and pay for membership...

Let me know how it goes with fixing your problems with the aircon as I haven't managed to get mine done yet!
