Hello all,

Just recently I have noticed that my Z has got an oil leak, when I leave in the morning for work there is a small patch of oil about centre of engine.

I had a look underneath the car and found that the sump has oil on it from about half way back and thus the clutch housing and g/box and d/shaft have oil down them.

It appears that may be coming from up the side of the sump and running down it and therefor causing oil on everything over it.

Could the sump seal be gone??

Any ideas would be most appreciated

Cheers

ZX_Steve

PS will get piccies up as soon as I have got camera attached.

Rear mail seal is the main culprit for oily gearbox/driveshaft mine got real bad and there is even oil on the rear section of the exhaust.

Has it a strong smell? just incase its gearbox oil? rear gearbox seal? yours a man/auto?

you really dont wanna be driving round with no oil in your box :(

Most definately engine oil as I notice pressure dropped this morning.

I will put some new oil in today.

Is it easy to fix?

Any guides / pictures?

may not be that tho so have a mechanic check to be sure although there is no way to be 100% sure.
