I took the passenger side kick panel off to gain access in running a power cable through the bulkhead. Now I noticed something that I haven't noticed before, the little silver box next to the ECU wasn't connected to th plug that's dangling below it.

Can anyone tell me what this is and why it may have been disconnected?

Thanks

...suprised Gio didn't pick up on that when we first went to view the car as we had a lot of the panelwork out to check for manufacture dates/spec levels etc.

try a vin number check and see what it was made as..

Its the BS intensity regulator.

Mine hasnt got one which is why I speak a load of BS at times. Its a common feature in Japanese cars and a lot of them have been removed or disconnected. :D

The Autobox ECU is not in that pic, and it has a Blue connector similar to the Main ECU connector.

Thanks Jaz. So it is an auto-transmission ECU judging by that photo. Can anyone confirm?

Nope, see the little black connector beneath it? That's the only thing I can see that would marry up with it and it's routed as such.

I can confirm its NOT the auto-transmission ECU ! The Auto ECU would sit over the top of that box. The 2 screw holes on the left and the 1 at the bottom is for the autobox ecu bracket.

you need the top half of that picture jazzy posted, as the arrow goes up off the top of the page in that diagram for the box you want
