sounds like you got the hot wire in the maf wet bud,with the maf disconected you will be in "limp mode" ive found these things dont like drying out other than just sitting with time and hair dryer..dont use any kind of chemical or spray on the wire

you need to be quite careful washing these cars at the front with a jet spray, as bri said the maf will be wet and you'll be lucky if it works again but theres plenty for sale
