I'd not trust jets after what has happened to some people's cars, so that's probably a good thing. Not sure what you have done to your engine, but at the very least get a remapped chip and boost controller...but I'd add some higher flow injectors to that list if I was doing it.

Would'nt bother with 1.5mm your likely to only get stock boost with that bore. 1.2 will only rise it a couple of psi. Most people fit 1.0mm for 13-14psi.

If your coming to Castle combe on saturday I may be able to bring some along.

ive never had a problem with jets on any of the cars ive had si, but you definatley gotta use your head , and dnt boot it in very cold weather until the car has warmed fully :)

thanks, im trying to get a sitter for the baby so i can come,

i didnt think 1.5 would up the boost much but couldnt get hold of 1.2s so just wanted to see if it would raise it at all,

dont wanna go to made until my cousin fits the chip :)

It's the boost spikes that concern me. Doesn't matter what engine temp with those.

if the car is not fully warmed up and you boot it , they will spike only going by the other turbo cars ive had , so i cant really comment on the 300 as it the 1st one ive had

Zed will restrict boost till 7psi anyway when cold :)

never had an issue with boost spikes in all the zed's I've fitted them too.

Still prefer a good EBC though, but cant beat Jets for a simple power increase.

yeh i must admit i eventually fitted a ebc in the sx

ah ! so i got no worries of it spiking from cold then lol :D

It was a nightmare finding 1.0m for me too... but i added a bit of smaller silicon hose to the oem hose with a t-piece or straight piece whatever u call it, so the small mig tip would fit without moving all about the hose.

Not been a problem for me running 1.2mm mig tips for about 2 years now, I have a Greddy Profec B Spec II now though to do it properly, the only thing remains is for me to fit the damn thing though, hopfully this weekend !

Although IIRC PaulC has been running boost jets at 16 psi for yonks now on stock etc. tubs !

that what i was going to do but i couldnt find my silicone hose in my garage and it was too bloody cold lol

ive found some restrictor from my old sx thats about 1.2mm soon as i find the other i'll put them in ;)

Never heard anyone ever actualy have problems except Chris at GetGreedy who used to spout off all kinds off shit about people he "knew" who had problems to make you buy his products.

Loads of stories of "I know this guy" or "my mate did this" but never "I had them and had a problem"

0.8mm you will/may run into problems but not over that.

0.8 will give problems bud,i detted all the way to scotland and back (550m) with mine and after 16psi started to lose power:shock:

18 psi.jpg

i wouldnt go any lower thn a 1mm jet , and thinking about it i may only put the 1.2s in

no 1.00 is fine, giving me a steady 15psi and with a decent chip will be reliable aswell. ive knocked my timing back 1 degree and it compansates for the increase in boost and i get no detting anymore when i cant find V-power fuel

woohhoooo more engine builds coming soon :D:D:D:D

says the man who,s spent more on his car in 3 months than ive spent in 3 years:tongue:

Id make sure everything is tip top. do a fuel cycle check, check timing etc..... mine was detting coz of bad injector connections and a cheap airfilter, i must of been getting slight slight det at high rpm as i couldnt hear it and id bypassed my det sensor il know never to do that again:(

exactly..... i was carless and dont want others making same mistakes i did.

Thanks jimmtt,

everythings been checked , i had a few problems to begin with but ive sorted that now thought i was running low boost because of a leak but it was a dodgy after market gauge ( Autometer:shock:) 1st one ive had thats been faulty in about 15 ive bought. Had a cozult done that was all fine and infact told me its 1 of the strongest zed engines he's seen in a while , i even had very good o2 sensor lol:D

colder plugs and i always turn the timing down even when i dont increase the boost ,, you never no when you'll use a batch of crap fuel!!

apex filter/exhaust and just getting rid of a few things from under the bonnet aiv's and things like that :)
