Is there any way to remove the door trims while the windows are up? There is a screw i cannot access behind the window and i dont have a battery in the car to allow me to lower the windows. I have the trim partially off, is there a manual way to lower the windows?

You can hook a battery straight to the window motor. It's one of the connectors on the door under the panel

How does he do that with the door card on then?

Which trims are you referring to? I don't believe the window needs to be in any position that will effect any exterior trim removal.

Not sure putting a battery in will be safe as there are wires everywhere and a lot arent connected up. The car is being broken up. It is the door trim Funkysi. It all pulled off apart from, on the passenger side, the top left hand corner as you look at it from the inside. I have removed this before and remembered that there is a screw hidden behind the window that you access from the outside to free the panel.

Oh yeah I remember, that's the top screw. You will need to lower the window. You could pull the thing off though if you weren't too bothered about that top piece of trim as it separates from the main door card itself.

Trying to keep everything intact to sell. Whats this about connecting a battery to the window motor?

This is an interesting one. I need to do the same thing as my drivers window has packed up in "up" position so I can't get to the top screw.:headvswal

wait for bazz to solve his by leaving the pillar trim in tact then... buy his from him and trash yours and rip the fooker off! :D

tbh.. i reckon you could prolly pull it away eneough at the bottom to undo the bolts... dont quote me on that though

Well i got the door trim off! I used quite a long flat blade screwdriver and levered the rectangular bit of plastic trim that is attached to door by the screw that i couldnt get at. It came away just enough for me to get a socket into the 2 bolts that hold the door trim on! There was no damage to either of the 2 parts!

just for your info, you can connect a battery straight to the window motor as PhilP said by just pulling the door card out on the bottom, reaching in and disconecting the motor connector then attaching the battery straight to it, I did it the other day ;)
