After buying the bits from Lisa I've just spent the best part of 4hrs fitting....ONE of them! I think I spent more time cleaning the kitchen than I did fitting the lense! Maybe it was beginners luck but I managed to fit it without damaging the case...too much! Melted a bulb holder at the back but will hopefully sort something out for that!

Anyway...my question for the Zed forum is this: what is the best way to get all that black gunk off?? Its all over my nice new light and there must be an easier way than a sponge and elbow grease??

An hour??? Admittedly I did have to jog down to halfrauds TWICE for tools (:slap:) and the 4hrs took in cleaning time but still....1hour is amazing!!

Will try the tcut/thinners idea 2moro when i do the second light! REALLY not looking forward to it though....lost feeling in my fingertips already! :(

I bought the material about a year ago to do this conversion but I'm scared to death of ruining my lights, so still haven't even started it yet!:headvswal

Like i said above you have to be a monkey to ruin them. just use a hairdryer and not a oven. you will never melt them then ;)

LOL, 4 hrs... I use glue n tar remover for the cleaning up process. Well done car mad for doing the task in an hour, thats a good advert:) trick is to prise away without touching the front of the lens case, knife n screwdriver my technique

My lights were fine, but my ears are still stinging from the *****cking I got for ruining the cooker:shock::shock: Everything we ate for the next 4 weeks smelt and tasted of burnt rubber:x:

yep as lisa said tar & glue remover is the safest, but if you not worried about what ya cleaning thinners would be the fastest lol

or acetone ;)

pure alcohol works well, isopropanol to be exact. Takes the black gunk away easily without harming the plastics!
