Has any one had a Jap Zed Mot'ed in the last few months and been told they HAVE to have a rear fog light; cos I have just had this. The car was mot'ed at the same garage last year and not a sodding mention of it then. Have the rules changed this year or was the mech just being a tw*t?:rant::rant:

I now have a light fitted and should i take it off????

Thanks

Marcus

yup you need a rear fog!!

...My foglight is wired into one of the reversing lights. When I am not having it MOT'd I just swap a bit of loom and a bulb over. Easy. Have 2 reversing lights and no ugly fog light. I don't think I've ever driven my Z in the fog and don't plan to either.

Thanks Si

I will look to change it over and do what you said soon.:):)

Marcus

same happend to me this year, passed last year without, then failed this year, do what si did(and me), wire to drivers side reverse light and put in a red bulb, auto electrician will charge about 60-80 quid and mount a swich somewhere on the dash, after the mot you can change it back if you wish, i just left mine as is.

So its a fail if they dont work? coz mine havent been working for ages :(

Yes it is mate

Some MoT stations won't accept 2 of your brake lights wired up as fog lights from what I have been told although I have not experienced that myself. The previous owner of my car had to pay a garage to disconnect that arrangement and stick a dangley down one on the back. Yuk.!

Officially for SVA I think there has to be a certain minimum distance between the fog and brake lights. Not sure how closely MOT stations check that though?

si, is there any chance u can pm me with exactly how to change the wires over?

My MOT is due within the next few months so i think i'd rather do it before i get told to do it!!!

Have now looked at this site http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_110.htm

and it would seen one does need a Rear fog.

Now thats great because I have just found my Existing fog light(rear) in the light cluster.(ok I dont use the car that often and i forgot!)So how the Fu*k does an Mot tester (who did this car last year and passed it) miss this.

I am about to have it out with the garage as they have fitted an ugly hanging thing. There must be loads of you out there who have this set up; has any one had any bother with this set up. I need to know before I rip into the garage !!!:rant::rant:

This is whats been done to your z marcus, albeit permanantly.

The mot tester is a twat by the sounds of things! There is an

orange switch under the steering column to operate the rear fog mate.

You got pm mate...:)
