For you who know i bought a Z with the intention to drive while upgrading and bought a what seemed to be an ok to start with, MOT was only 300ish miles ago so thought cool, get it home and find all sorts wrong with it. This is a lesson to be learned harshly and I will not be doing it again lol. Well today as got of work a lil early i decide to get it out the garage where its been since day 22nd Feb :( and jack it up and look underneath and try find where the oil is coming from, well i found that out but i found all this also. Now my dilemma is I am follow guides from certain law factors about my right to a full refund if not take him to court and get compo also. Now if this does not happen what is my chances with the state that the underside is in ???

Found so much stuff underneath held on with cableties also its not even funny....

but you can also see the whole of the bottom of the car is scraped and I have no idea wether its deemed as a write off or is infact at all repairable obviously I not touching while I am persuing the legalities but its an "If i have no other choice"

here is some pics :nelson:

yeah when bought i went through the paperwork for any sign of changing as he said was in kms and was confused by that. but nothing in there to say they were changed until i bought it got the paper work home and found a reciept for adaption in the year 2000. I think i got him on a few things tho coz he advertised it as well here is the original advert Autotraders nice young lady sent me via email.

I am truly sorry you have bought yourself a pup, but come on did you buy it at night with sunglasses on ???

Very good condition?????

One of the best????

65,000miles and 99,000 on the clock

I would have ran a mile looking at the pictures you have posted, compaired to the discription!

Im not having a go at you but I think you have made a rod for your own back. also the law is still very vage about secondhand car sales. I belive more could be done to protect purchasers when this thig happens.

Still very sorry for you.

yeah i know, but i am a trusting guy as never had a problem with cars before, with the mileage he said its in Kms as is a JP import there was never any docket saying it was changed 1st time i checked papers. Yeah I shoulda slapped myself silly although there is still a bit we can do due to his false advertising, mileage, and condition. So hoping something comes of it, he will get his nice legal letter tomorrow before 1pm with all the Trading standards/Consumer Direct Ref numbers on it. If no joy they said to take him to court which we have a pretty sweet amount of evidence in the form of legal dockets, photos and Garages professional opinion (well in thier words they dont like working on Z's). Learnt a lesson tho I think.

Best of luck to you, the clocks are Uk clocks as the oil pressure is in psi.

post some pics of the car so we can comferm uk or jap spec.

well that was the confusing thing as it has seatbelts in the door and not on the pillar but it has the nissan badge and not the Z logo.

some pics in this thread.

The car

Your rear wheel is on the wrong side, or is it the front LOL

Also just look in the driverside door pillar for tyre pressure sticker, if it's all in Jap it's a JDM

Having said that the UK's don't have the rear bumper reflectors and the JDM's do or am I wrong, again

Forge 300Zx - he never answers phone calls or email which is why I phoned Trading standards and they directed me.

Large portions of Tags are Jp unber the bonnet all manuals are jp also. And believe me I would so like to visit him.... but in the state of mind I would get into it isn't wise ;)

Paul Thompson - Yeah I think it looks alot better than the original slot ones.

That looks like an import model. Regards the MOT if it was carried out last June there isnt much you can do against the gatage that tested it (3 months is the limit for any disciplinary action against them).

Ive got to agree with gruntpa's comments, you should have checked it over properly when buying it, rather than relying on what the seller told you.

And sorry to say but looks like theres quite a bit of work needing done :(

When buying from a private seller, a mate, or even a fella in the pub, or privately, it's quite different. Should the car turn out to be a duffer, there's little you can do. The only exceptions are if the seller lied about the car or if it was unsafe to drive when you bought it. Both are tricky to prove.

This part here:

"The only exceptions are if the seller lied about the car or if it was unsafe to drive when you bought it. Both are tricky to prove." would you say that I have enough evidence to say it was unroadworthy and lied about lol.

Yeah I think it looks alot better than the original slot ones.
