yea but what your planing would mean an engine out again  ide spend the money on beefy tubs now and later just change the injectors, seems more logical to get the motor done so it stays in the hole bud ;)

Yeah thats a great idea. theres just one small prob ££££££££££££££££££££

Id feel far safer if i had bigger injectors for my rebuild

If i get bigger tubs maybe in a year £600 (engine in and out) wont be such a killer. thats if i do actually decide to go bigger. So for me it seems logical.

my missus has just put a full sunday roast on my office table so :D :D

Mate believe you and me the more I have been involved with these cars the more I can say there is no cheap way of doing things!

Injectors are one of the most vitally important parts of the engine if they **** up then your new engine dissolves. If Legrath wants to experiment with different injectors then he is experienced enough with these cars to know when something isn't right and deal with it!

I would rather recommend keeping the money by so that when they pull the engine you have a slush fund to dip into when they find something else that needs doing as they always do!

The DW injectors are not new by the way they are bored out stock injectors!

If you do insist on new injectors the ONLY option is Nismo 555 IMHO!

Topless i just read an old post saying stock injectors are good on stock tubs upto 16-17psi is this correct?

the statement 'good up to 16-17psi' is fairly loosely termed chap... they are maxed out at that point so youll be on the edge of 'pop'!

imo they are good for 14 or maybe 15 psi... so to add a safety cushion.

The more psi you run the more it becomes risky, injector manufacturers do not recommend going above 80% duty cycle. Most people on here run their turbos to 15psi (for turbo longevity)and this IIRC the injectors are running at nigh on 100% duty cycle.

In an ideal world it would be more suitable to run the car with 555's but balancing out the fact that this would set most people back £500+, I can see why most people are hesitant to do this particularly as it does not make the car faster!

100% duty cycle @ 15psi... oh my

So wat should i be running with forged pistons t25 tubs (360 thrust/step gap pistons)

Stock injectors and a couple other things uprated valve springs the usual full exhaust decat and induction? Whats would be an aggressive setup and what would be a reliable one?

Honestly im lookng for a reliable setup. Not mad power

Does anyone have a link or number for scholar (injector recon) please/thanks

Joely give me a ring if you want some advice?

Jimmer you should sit down and work out your budget and then determine what state of tune u want to go for from there!

i only bought uprated valve springs coz i was advised to. as old ones have prob had it. and uprated are not much more £

Im just struggling to find some good advice anywhere.

This is what i have worked out so far.

£900 on z1 internals

£300 on a clutch.

ive worked out that it will cost me £250 to rebuild my tubs with 360 bearing and step gap pistons.

and ive been told to expect to pay around £1300-£1400 for labour.

thats 2750 already over my budget of 2500

so now im really trying to budget myself.

Well the injectors can be done at a later date, as you can see from my link to get a nicely balanced zed is quite expensive.

Well i want to be able to run at least 15-16 psi once the rebuild is done and im sure the tubs can handle that but the injectors cant :(

Why do you want to run 16psi, when the turbos no longer work efficiently at that stage?

How did you get to that figure?

Since your zed has not been running right, hadn't you better see how fast it is when running properly rather than spend money you haven't got?

soeey the whisky is goning to my head i meant 13-14 psi safely, coz i know standard internals just cant hack it for long enough.

So will my stock injectors be up for it properly?

I have some 555 injectors for sale. Not expensive.
