Somebody posted up how many Zeds were made in each year...

...and I've been searching for ages for that post/thread. I think it was figures they quoted out of the enthusiasts handbook.

Please help? :headvswal

Thanks andy, and it continued with 700 or so in 1998, less in '99, even less in '00 and '01

For the life of me I can't find the post :(

I don't recollect seeing the extended information, it'll probably end up I posted it !!

Those figures may be for US only, not wolrdwide, 1996 is when US sales stopped.

zx-eyes thanks for finding it!!!!!!!!! :duffer:

Quavey thanks for posting it in the beginning

1998 - Total Production 780

1999 - Total Production 449

2000 - Total production 184

Obviously not all 98's were 99 spec cars but its a start

Also one note to add, all official exports had stopped by 96, with only 320 leaving the country so all in Japan (officialy)

Thats taken from Brian longs later book, where he states his figures in earlier books were wrong.

So does that mean Japan stopped exporting the Z32 in 1996? If so the figures for the following years were for the JDM market only?

Yeah i think thats correct :)

If the zed was only made in Japan from 97 on then those figures are just for the JDM market, and by rights should be the only figures :) Which means that the later zeds are very rare :)

I suppose that means that if any amount of people want them, they are going to have to pay good money.

i got the dvd story of the Z, cant be sure but think it says the z32 production was ceased in 1996 for worldwide sales, it was only models sold in later years that couldnt sell in 1996 and to improve sales slight cosmetic changes were introduced...

Production ceased in 2000

All 1997~2000 vehicles were Japanese domestic sales only

lol wahoo im famous! I thought i once posted somtihng up about that... As i said, all in Brian Longs book. Thats a good read!

The very last ZX was reported sold by a dealer in 2001, however as stated, production ceased in 2000. Another interesting note, is that the very last one was not apparently not kept by the factory and was purely sold as stock.
