When I bought my zed it had Yokohama's on the rear and they were brilliant.

When I had to change them I had to get Continental... they're crap

Changed the fronts Michelin super pilot and they are very good, grip and quiet, albeit can be expensive... shop around

I'd definitely recommend the Michelin Pilot Sports. Recently got them on mine and they are very grippy and have a consistent feel to them under load (less surprises) and are pretty hard wearing compared to many I believe.

i always buy my tyres from camskill as they have always been the best price i have found... i have tried falken 452's and found they werent bad (in the dry at least) but are completely blown away by the michelin pilot sports... until last week i wouldnt fit anything other than the michelins, however, i thought id give the goodyear eagle f1's new assymetric tread a go as the reviews were looking very positive...

all i can say is that for all 4 the eagle f1's are over 150 quid less than the pilot sports and easily perform as good if not better. im not sure how long they will last but 'apparently' they wear better than the pilot sports too.

go for them imo

my 2pence :D

There's loads of threads on this one.......and just as many opinions ;)

Avons are crap so don't even think about them on a 300zx.

I have had Goodyear GSD3s and they were brilliant; but they lasted 5 minutes!

I now have Dunlop SP Sport 9000s all round. They are reasonably priced for a premium brand, they've lasted pretty well so far, the V-tread pattern gives very good grip in the wet and I've had no scary loss of traction moments ether. I'd recommend them - plus you can get them anywhere at short notice, unlike some brands.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Well i have avon zz3 on the fronts and toyo proxos or something on the rears and been fine in all weathers.

Can't beat Bridgestones for performance, Toyos are next best choice. After that go for major manufacturers. Everyone will have their own opinion and criteria for what is a good tyre.

And consider just how much you really need "The Best" tyre out there, if you drive really hard, fair enough, but if you only cruise, then cheaper tyres may do.

Dont get stuck in having to have the best "Name" fro nothing.

That said, I find Falken 452 are pretty good too. Probably give the big names a run for their money at a lot less cash..

I swear by goodyear eagle f1 gsd3's, excellent grip dry or wet and last for ages if you aren't nailing the car every day, had toyo proxes and they wear out too quick, never tried falken 452's yet (on the rear) but hear good things about them
