what would be the right offset for 18 x 9.5 on the front

Featured Replies

9.5 is a little big for a zed up front, i would go for 8.5 for the front with an offset of around 35, with the 9.5 you will get rubbing!!

Mike

these wheels only come in 9.5 but do come in a variaty of offsets. thanks

well you need around a 35 to clear the brakes but you will get rubbing on the inner arch, if you had wider arches then you could go for a lower offset say a 10 or 15 to stop this but on standard arches they would stick out :D

may be worth trying a 20 offset to see how they sit in the arches but be careful that they wont catch the outer wing when going over a bump!!

I´ve also 8,5 with offset35 on the front, guess its not possible to get 9,5 in without

making wider...

By the way, I had to fit 5mm distances each side cause the rims touched the calipers.

Some rims fit, some don´t. Even if they got the same data...

tell me about it. I have a set of brakes sititng here that cat go on because they dont fit my wheels, so I have to now find a set of 18" that will fit the big brakes. another extra expense.

based on having run 18x9 on the front with +33 and currently +20 offset, I've used an offset calculator to work out you'd need +25 to fit them and roll your front arches ;)

Just to let you know, i have also looked into this and FYI you can fit a 235 tire on a 9.5 inch rim which will help with clearance issues.

Andy

Not sure! you could whip off one of your rears look for the offset on the back of the wheel and then try and fit it to the front as a start. You would have bear in mind that you would have a narrower tire but it will tell you if the wheel clears the brakes.

Andy

I believe it will rub no matter what offset you use, a 9.5" wheel is to wide for the front of a 300zx. You will need to do some arch rolling. Are sure they are only available in 9.5", very unusual.

I think the only Z32 on here with fronts that big is the beast with its custom wide front arches.

My Strosek wheels are 9" fronts and 10 rears, I will look up the offset for the front for you

Allan

yeah good point but the wheels have gone now doh !!

They are nice wheels who they go to i wonder?

thanks mate, so it looks like they wont fit with an offset of 32 ?

you can add a spacer to increease the offset ie head towards 0, just can't go the other way.

eg +32 offset and a 10mm spacer = +22
