i am trying to fit 8.5 by 18 front wheels with an offset of 32 but i am struglleing to get them to clear the callipers as it looks that they would stick outside the arch with a massive spacer that is needed in between as any one had this problem before i also have looked in to extending the studs but am not really sure what is best to do or what needs to be done can any one help

How much clearance do you need?

You can get spacer in loads of sizes. In fact I have a couple of 3mm spacers if you want to buy.

I used some 25mm bolt on ones to clear my brembos. and they filled the arch but did not stick out...

i have got some spacers but to clear the brakesthe spacer needs to be really thick and then the studs arnt long enough has anyone ever extended the studs to accomadate this i found a website which i phoned the bloke and he seemed to no what he was talking about but could i be causing more problems for my self in the future thye website was http://www.wheels.uk.com and he told that system 2 should sort out my problem

Have you bought some spacers yet Si?

No I haven't yet mate. I really need to rebuild the suspension first and have all the camber set before I can decide. My current springs have sagged a little bit and therefore I have more noticeable negative camber. Once I've finished fitting my new springs/shocks/adj. tension rods and camber arms I'll be able to work out what I need. I'd have yours with a flash if I knew exactly the right spacers I need.

what size wheels are yours is it a twin turbo because i think the brakes are bigger on the turbo i think i am gonna have to go and see this bloke work out what i need and

hope they fit

also what size lip is on the front of your wheel mine is a 2.5 inch lip

Doesn't matter what size the lip is really. You need to work out what offset you're running.

What size are the spacers?

Yes, a number of people use longer studs as this is a lot safer if you are using 10-15mm spacers. This is unlikely to cause any problems.

You could opt for bolt on spacers like mine, which do not need long studs.

I think you should fit spacers first then have the camber adjusted. I had significantly less -ve camber on the front once I had fitted the 25mm spacers.

In fact, I am thinking about putting them back on.

Also, as a side point, I think there is too much fuss made about camber. OK, we would all like to have our zeds looking nice and straight but a little -ve camber can really help with turn in and doesn't wear tyres as much as you think.

Ask yourselves, do you want to drive it or just polish it? lol

Surely adding track will magnify camber measurement. I do want to keep a bit of neg camber as it aids handling, but as you can see, mine is off quite a bit and there's a noticeable increase in tyre wear on the inner parts of the tyres. Plus front wheels need spacing out. Can't wait to fit all the new suspension.

1-2 degrees negative camber can be a nice handling improvement for the road.....but lowering can result in much more negative camber than that, which needs to be fixed with camber adjustment.
