Brakes

Hi Again,

Taking my car to the Nurburgring soon and wanted to replace the brake pads on the car before i go, which pads take most wear on a trip like that (front or rear) or is it a 50/50 split as want to put the more expensive pad one the area that is going to do most work and cheaper ones on the other area. cheers

ps- should i get some new disks too, planning to do 8-12 laps over 2 days and drive there and back.

Fronts, about 70-80% Do you have stock sized brakes...if so, your going to suffer massive brake fade on the ring !

when you say stocked sized, i have grooved disks front and back but stock calipers. can anybody reccomend any pads that would suit best for trip.

thats all in for 4 pads and front and rear disks, would only offer 300 and would collect. good advice bout the pads though, cheers

For that sort of money you can get a Big brake conversion, consisting of Bigger discs, and brackets to re-space the standard calipers. That will make a very noticable difference in braking.

where from, and also will they work with the standard z 16" wheels as i don't really fancy taking my 19" TSW's, £110 Per Tyre.

ah...no, you need 17"+

You'll have to stick with the standard sized brakes. Check out http://www.smithys-place.co.uk for brake options within the UK.
