I had MT90 in my old manual box which didn't completely fix the problem.

I put Silkolene fully synth something or other in my new one, which has been fine so far.

Richards Bros Ltd in Redruth Cornwall... 01209 212234 or http://www.richardsbros.com

Do a search under Royal Purple, used it in my Z for engine, gearbox and diff and yep, you gain bhp a torque!!! I have the before and after dyno figures to prove!!!

Still not changed it yet after 18 months as it was sent away for analysis and it's still as pure as pure!!! Well worth it! :hyper:

Silkolene Syn5 75w90 great stuff used it for nearly 3 years now and never had any probs....

Was the gearbox noisey or just crunched when changing gears?

Just crunchy at high revs in and out of 4th (usually).

I wont be using MT90 ever again

It's supposed to be an interim fix/bodge for noisy synchros, but it's harsh on the box and certainly won't extend it's life, probably quite the opposite. The original spec oil is probably best, I took a gamble on a more modern fully synth.

Where did you get the information to arrive at that conclusion?

I was gonna say. It's a top fave in the US with their cars racking up Neil Armstrong mileage.

I have still not decided, the box is in for a rebuild soon so what ever I decide to use I will post up here with my findings but one thing for sure it wont be MT90.
