Well, having had the bad news about the knocking being a big end and the conrod was furbarred to boot, well Jimmer would not re-use it, things are looking up. He also found an absolute wrecked piston which really did not matter as I had already bought Wiseco's anyway, but I am hopeful for some improvement in general performance and running. There was a lot found to be wrong with it when it was being stripped which gives me great hope about its perfomance when it is back on the road. Here are some progress pics so far with very greatful thanks to my son Jimmer for his much appreciated time and expertise. I would have ended up selling it as a kit car. Thats my engine he is working on in the pics. :hyper:

He's talking dirty now Glenn, saying things like 'I want to drop it back in the hole this weekend'.......foooook me I could be driving it again next week, I might put 'L' plates on it or should it be a 'P' plate. Mind you the MoT is due soon so more expense.

Well, it was once again visiting hours today and the patient is looking much better, which is more than I can say for Jimmer. Apparenly the lash marks are bleeding real bad these days but I am his Dad and I can get away with it, just !! I am beginning to get excited NOW............

Only the tubs left now and it can go back in the hole. They have turned up via TNT so it is just the fitting to do. That sounds a bit flipant doesn't it especially as I will not be doing it.

It looks great on the bench Dave but of course you don't see much of it when it's in and it does not stay that way for long. Can't wait to be driven it although the weather is a bit grim currently.

Thanks, I'll PM him. I wanted to have a go myself but am not sure it's a good idea as what I have planned will need an engine that won't let go!!!
