Is it an original USA if it is a RHD???

it was made for a bloke that lived in america but was moving to england and wanted a special order to have it a right hand drive. still got the import papers. i have never heard of a right hand yank car.

That is really unusual!

Anyway back on topic, don't know much but i think the yank cars had nicer interiors and i think most if not all were manual and i think they had adjustable suspension switches, porbably other stuff aswell, but i don't know much. :)

Well i'm sure there are people on this forum with alot more knowledge than me and they'll be able to shed more light on it. :) I did my best :(

thanks. i'm sure you know more than me. im still new to this.

Me too really, but there are some people on here that know them inside out, they'll be able to tell you everything you would ever need to know :)

User CP, edit avatar i think, did it ages ago, can't really remember, i think the biggest prob was getting one small enough.

go into user cp and upload one. it must meet the size criteria for the forum tho.

the rear bumper was changed and i do have locking t tops.

Quick question bud, you don't know how much it cost the person to import it to england, do you???

I know they never made TT LWB's in the states, so it must have been converted, what evidence do you have that it is a yank car?

when i got the car a few years ago the bloke said he had changed the rear bumper to what it is now. and i have a separate key for the t tops. which is a pain to undo as the locks are a bit stiff.

the us z were the only ones to have locking t-tops but that is not to say they wernt scavenged from a us spec z. best way would be to check your vin number to see what build spec it was! i think mike feeney can do that for you from MJP

could you give me his e mail or phone num. ta

Look in the traders section cos that all i would do. its under MJP EASTERN AUTO.

It's not that unusual to get a so-called "US import" RHD vehicle. At the time of ordering a new car the buyer will have specified a RHD vehicle to be delivered in the US with the "final destination" being the UK/Japan/OZ/whatever. The car will be allowed to remain in the US as long as certain conditions are met (ie, the car needs to be exported to the final destination when the buyer leaves the country/not allowed to sell the car on the local market/etc).

My family has been in the foreign service for as long as I can remember and we've often had so-called import cars. For example, we had a UK-spec (but LHD) Caddillac STS delivered in South Korea (brand new) with the stated final destination being the US. Upon leaving Korea the car was taken to Saudi Arabia and after three years there it was exported back to the US where it was sold. So now there is a UK-spec LHD Caddilac driving around somewhere on the West Coast. No big deal but it does hurt residual value.
