as some of you will know, i have aquired a full set of 350z brembo calipers. now what i need to know is, which discs will go with them. am i better off buying 350z discs, or can i go for 330mm r33/300zx discs like these on here http://www.db-power.co.uk/index.php?cPath=128_153_253_424_425 without much of a fitment problem, or will the offset on them be different to the 350z standard discs. im at a loss what to go with here so need some assistance, or links to websites where i can buy the ones that are suitable. this is hard work

had a word with andyp, hes only got standard 350z discs.

Yep AndyP has them fitted.

He certainly had to do some fabrication to get the callipers to fit the rear so surely you are better off making them so that the disks are easier to come buy as they are the bits that get renewed.

I have upgraded to brembo callipers but find it difficult to get disks at a reasonable price.

Good luck with it.

350Z and Skylines have a different offset for the discs - just enough to be a real PITA. With what you have you can either buy standard 350Z discs (rather expensive!) or 'uprated' 350Z discs (eg aftermarket). There is a fair amount of choice out there. I'd stick with standard diameter, they do work pretty well as they are and with good pads you will notice a huge difference.

Mike Feeney has 'alternative' discs on the front of his 350, which is explains why I have very slightly used, standard 350 discs on the front of my 300 ! Can't remember what make he has, so would be worth asking him.

if you can get hold of smithy then he seems really clued up on front brakes and rota v caliper problems

thanks andyp & znut. i have a freind who owns an engineering company. if i asked him, he could make me some adaptor plates for the calipers so i wont have to cut the lugs off. these could also be made to allow for any offset and disc diameter issues.

i pm`d smithy last week about this and awaiting a reply from him

Not sure how well that would work, the lugs are too narrow and would get in the way although it may be possible if you are really creative.

Disc diameter issues are a little easier to deal with, but bear in mind the discs are a fair size already. Mine do fit inside 17" wheels so you can go a bit larger, but surely larger discs will be even more expensive. I'd just stick with standard parts (I did !), it makes replacements much easier and explaining the mods to an insurance company much easier. "Yes, they are standard Nissan parts, but from the later model".

I even considered swapping the hubs so there would be no mods to those, but that wouldn't have worked.
