Hi guys I will be taking the Z for a trip to the famous Nurburgring end of march so i gotta do a dam good service on it so i thought a nice new set of shiny spark plugs wouldnt go a miss but im not sure which flavour to go for.

HKS seem the most expensive but i do know that price dosnt nesecerely mean they are the best and you tend to pay more for the name so any advice on this subject would be greatly appeciated and supplier and price would be good too!!

NGK Plantnum are OEM for the Z32.

 

NGK PFR6B-11C (standard boost)

NGK PFR6B-11B (for raised boost)

 

The only spark plugs I would ever fit becuase they are the only ones specifically designed for the VG30DETT. Others have incorrect shroud length.

Depends on the car setup. If your running higher than standard boost a cooler plug is a good idea. Also it depends on how often you want to change your plugs. Irridium pluggs will last at least 60K perfoming to their optimum. Platingum cores about 40K optimum operating and copper cores much less.

 

I Would go for NGK platinum or Get HKS Irridium off Ebay. HKS plugs are NGK anyway and the HKS S40i's that are on Ebay are slightly cooler than standard.

I thought HKS plugs were made by denso .

Im running 14 PSI at the moment so i think cooler plugs will be best. Has any one got any prices??

or do you recon ebay is the best bet??

you found NGK PFR6B-11B at a general motor factors ? Thats quite suprising tbh. They only fit the 300zx, whereas most other plugs fit various models, and they are'nt normally available in the UK (11B was made by NGK for Nissan U.S only as an aftermarket option to the 11C)

yeah andrew page motor factors keep them in, dont know if you have an andrew page in your area.

Yep, didn't say colder though, I said suitable for higher boost (different length shroud for improved det resistence) ;) :p

But we're not in the US lol. The cooler ambient temps we see over here will more than likely cause plug fouling under idle and cruise conditions....

Matters nowt, the 11b was not designed with weather or temps in mind, but were designed for the Zed and don't have a shorter tip but do protrude longer, slightly. 11c 7's will foul far quicker than these, feel free to click the links below from NGK.

Thing is the guy has now got decent plugs rather than garbage, so that's that :)

Snowy, i'd deffo look at your plugs, as the 11B is ONLY a plug that can be inported, it's not stocked anywhere in the UK generally only by Zed specialist suppliers and garages, you can however get the 11c no probs within the UK.

I thought that irridiums had a service interval of 6k?

I had a set of Irridiums and I doubt they lasted 20,000. Got to the stage the car wouldn't even start - went back to NGKs.

whats wrong with the cooler coppercore Ngk 7s there fine with high boost :x:! i use the coppercore in our drag car and thats 1300bhp with supercharger and had them with the nitrous setup never ever had any problems with them! even when we ran the car to the point of melt down lol,

thats why i use them in my 300 and every performance car ive had.

down to personal preference i suppose and what you have confidence with i have confidence in them even though there a very cheap plug cost about me about £1.50 a plug. :)
