When all the interior comes out soon. Kinda thinking about putting in some interior courtesy door lights. IE, when you open the door, they come on with the interior light. Anyone done this? Gotta be quite an easy job?

I have some from a Cavalier GSi (not the ones below) which look really nice. They also have a very fine rubber surround to the base of them too, so should look really neat and factory fit.

Be careful Si!!

I can see you slowly drifting further and further away from the ultimate standard zed you so long for. :D

LOL, I do like doing some things. Subtle stuff though. How can you change something too much that's so beautiful. It's like trying give Angelina Jolie a boob or nose job!

GTBH Si, those lights do look like they came from a Cavalier GSi and not from a Zed. I wouldn't give them house room.

I think you're just bored and want something looking slightly different from the rest.

Each to their own though mate, each to their own.

You'll be fitting these next saying there a subtle upgrade.   :p

:hurl:

Well, Nissan fitted courtesy lights on a lot of cars from the factory. Not shitty chromed wiper blades.

Yeah! Fookin Nissan Bluebirds. I used to paint the fookers in the eighties at the plant. :hurl:

350zs come with them, :p

....I think..

You're not sure though bud, are you? :D :D

Only jesting Si.

Don't let anyone put you off bud. If you like it, you go for it.

I think they add to the plain door cards. If you give it a factory look. Not like they'll have LEDs and shite drilled into them. It's just a thought. I might cut a section out of a spare card and see how it looks. They are only small things.

easy to wire up, the relay for the interior light is under the rear side panel, I can tell you which wire if you need to know :)

They are functional as well. The zed door is a big bugger and some lighting would provide additional safety as well as illuminating the door area. I been thinking about this type of mod as well mainly because my Laguna has them fitted and I think it's a good function.

hmmmmmmmmmm not sure can u not photoshop it first to see?

Hmm would be interesting.

I've got a set of the same red/smoked courtesy lights off a Cav GSi...were going on my 200iS.

Would be good to see if you do it

What about mounting them under the door so as to light up the floor?-saves making holes in the door card and you might avoid the dog turd before getting in! :D

Obviously you need clear/opaque ones but loads about.

Si i'm sure Daz wouldn't mind coming around with his drill to cut the holes for you in the doors.........the nose panel, the bonnet, the wings, the tailgate......................

I certainly won't be putting a drill anywhere near the bodywork! LOL

any update on the seats yet Si i'm interested to see what they gonna turn out like, should be 1 of the finishing touches to a car as nice as yours

Just out of interest Si, why do you actually want to fit these. Looks or function?

Not as yet mate. I have got to pop into the trim shop tomorrow and have a chat with them. I have got a spare driver's seat which I am going to strip and fit the electrics to my passenger seat, along with a LHD control panel.

Something im going to do, is something that i think is a nice little touch on the new BMWs. When you unlock the car (remote central locking stylee) they have a couple of sort of cool white LEDS under door handles. Theyre not very bright but enough to gentley illuminate the underside of the door handles.

It may sound tacky, but in dark or unlit streets it proves itself very handy!

Ill take a pick tomorrow night when i get the 3 series convertible we've currently got back, and youll see what i mean

I've seen those. I'd sooner have a discrete interior illuminated door handle. Similar to the ones introduced on the mk1 Mondeos. Kinda flush fit in the shroud so you couldn't see them, but illuminated the handle when the lights were on. Something I may do in conjunction with the Terrano 2 door handles and 99-spec electric window switches which are also illuminated.
